good McGuire AFB 5.13 mi 00:46 08:55 pace

Saw a ground hog on this run. He ran back into his hole. Apparently if you see me on your run it means the weather is good enough to run in. Ground hogs are smarter than I thought. https://conn... read more

Running around, in, and out of the golf course and surrounding woods at McGuire AFB. Saw 7 white tailed deer, some canadian geese, and even a couple of golfers. Had to make 2 water crossings, but s... read more

  10. RUN
good McGuire AFB Track 6.25 mi 00:52 08:17 pace

My achilles are a little sore after my 7 miler in my NB minimus; thus I should have done this run slower, especially in the wind (35-50 knots!) However, since I ran on the 3/4 mile rubberized trac... read more

Ooh! Ouch! Well done for surviving! But who puts on a race at a time when the temps could be that high? That's completely irresponsible of the organisers!

@Pope, they did move the marathon start time up 30 min and had hundreds and hundreds of medical, police, and volunteers on the course. The last the race I heard of cancellation because of heat was the Chicago Marathon back in 2007.

Pete, there were tons of little kids running with us. Lots of fun. The course went by super fast. A little pricey ($40) but good support, swag, and pie!

Sounds like a perfect family outing! I registered my husband to do a bubble run 5k with us on May 2nd. We'll mostly be walking as he can't really run, but it will be fun to do an event together with our daughter.

April, it was definitely a family fun atmosphere. I think Alex and I only ran close to a mile. The rest was walking. I think Kim and Matt walked about 90% of it.
