      the rule of thumb, that I don't follow, is to rest one day for every mile raced. I probably should start but when you race a half marathon it's hard to lay off for 13 days. Tell you the truth it takes that long before I have my full energy back so perhaps maybe next time I'll try it.

      It's good to see you out there. For the summer I would recommend buying a fuel belt. You can get them at any running store, Run-On / Lukes / online. It's a belt that holds small water bottles. I run with one on my long runs. It take a little getting used to but they don't slosh around....they're made for runners. It'll be handy when the temps get hot. Your body will get used to the heat as long as you stay hydrated. Don't quit. If you can make it through the summer with consistent miles you find

    wow, I was SLOW today! so glad to have gotten it in but that makes 12 miles in 48 hours and my knee is aching! tomorrow will be a rest day :)
