Again with the garmin and stopping. Joel's said 10.6 and 2:40, but there were definitely stops and I ran the last bit and he walked. So again, somewhere in the middle.

(The long version) Our legs felt pretty darn decent after filling the camelbacks at Jack in the Box, so we did the first two mile pretty fast. Then the heat and the tireds set in and Joel's HR monitor was just continuously going off when we were in the sun so we established kind of a run walk thing going on for most of this. I felt kind of wussy because I know I can run that trail faster, but we just sort of slogged through it. At the end, our new training partner friend Brian went up ahead a bit and then came back, then I ran up to the 10.0 with him, and then we refilled waters and went back and met Joel. I felt much less wussy when I got in the car and the temp read 99. That's really too hot to be slogging 10 miles at noon.

However, very successful day. I feel like I leveled up today, longest brick ever by far. My race in Sept should be less hilly and about 20 degrees cooler on the run. If I can do this, I can freaking do anything. ROAR!
