  1. RUN
    good 6.5 mi 01:00 09:13 pace

For the first run after battling the sinus crud for nearly the last week, I felt surprisingly good. Slow, but at least good.

  2. RUN
good Track work 3 mi 00:23 07:40 pace

    1 x 1600m
    8 x 400m
8 hill sprints next to the band practice field (my calves already hate me)

  3. RUN
    alright 5.25 mi 00:48 09:08 pace

80+ degree weather is no fun. It felt like I was wearing a 20lb vest today.

  4. RUN
    blah 6.2 mi 00:57 09:11 pace

I got my miles in, but I never could get in a good groove.

  5. RUN
good Track work 5 mi 00:37 07:24 pace

Didn't count the recovery periods (walk 100m between sets) so the time isn't as impressive as it looks. Not that impressive anyway when you consider Jon-Michael runs faster than that fo... read more

  6. RUN
good Muddy run 6 mi 00:52 08:38 pace

Run through downtown Memphis then back south on the river walk trail on Mud Island. Wish I could have been at the FNC 5k.

  7. RUN
    5 mi 00:47 09:19 pace

ugh, legs still tired from earlier runs

  8. RUN
    blah 4 mi 00:37 09:07 pace

got a lot of ground to make up and only a month to get there

  9. RUN
    alright 3.1 mi 00:26 08:15 pace

First run in too long so not terrible. Got a lot of work to do before the Coke Classic next month.

  10. RUN
    good 6.5 mi 00:57 08:41 pace

Ran the first 3.1 in 24:18 for a 7:50 pace so I'm very happy with that. Haven't put in a lot of miles recently, but the speed work seems to be paying off.

  11. RUN
    good 3.8 mi 00:30 07:53 pace

I'm doing most of my miles on a treadmill lately so I figured it was a good time to work on speed vs. distance... hate running like a hamster.

  12. RUN
    blah 13.1 mi 02:05 09:32 pace

Absolutely brutal run. Seriously strong headwind for the entire race. Was almost too dead to even eat at the after party.

  13. FIT
    good 01:00

All upper body today, giving my legs a break for a long run tomorrow. Then tapering down for the frostbite.

  14. RUN
    good 3.1 mi 00:28 09:01 pace

Treadmill run following the rowing session. Legs still a little sore, may put off my long run until Sunday.

  15. FIT
    good 3.1 mi 00:20 06:19 pace

C2 rower with resistance set on 10

  16. RUN
    alright 6.2 mi 00:56 09:01 pace

Felt like a much harder run, but my legs are still sore from the workouts on Tuesday and Wednesday.

  17. RUN
    alright 12 mi 01:53 09:24 pace

Not bad considering it's been 2 weeks since my last long run.

I just read on the site that headphones are prohibited at the Frostbite race. I'm not sure how I feel about that.

It's primarily because it's not a completely closed course. On the highway between Phebe and Starkville, there will be traffic so you'll want to be able to hear it. If I run on the treadmill or track I use headphones some, but if I'm running on the road I normally don't, particularly this time of year when a lot of my running is in the dark.
