Pretty awesome workout this morning. I was a little reluctant to push the pace at first because I got to bed late and it was hot & more humid - AGAIN! I took the 4.5 mile warm up pretty easy.
Then it was a tempo/combo workout. We ran out a mile and turned around and ran back at tempo pace, then took a short recovery jog followed by an 800 on the track at 10k pace. Then we got water and took a 3-4 minute recovery before we started the next segment. The next segment was out 1/2 mile and back at tempo pace, short recovery jog, 400 at 5k pace. I followed that up with a mile-ish cool down.
Here's my splits for the tempo/combo workout. I was happy with these times and they felt good. I felt like I probably could have pushed a little harder.
Mile 1 - 8:18
Mile 2 - 8:10
800 - 3:33 (tad bit too fast)
Mile - 8:14
400 - 1:37
Pretty happy with that workout!!! :-)
