Yeah; the thing is, after a while, you realize that down dog feels so good when you are there at the end of the toga but so terrible at the beginning!

Well....it had sometimes been a bit of a challenge toward the end of holding it, the last two weeks, but today I just had NO strength for it at all....kept going back to child's pose.

Also the other big gripe being the blister trying to start....ouch! :( Any tips for that?

Seems like the C25K is a little more intense than the Nike+ Walk to Run. I start Week 8 next week and that will be the first time running 20 minutes straight. Keep up the good work!

Not quite 20 yet....that's next session! But I'm excited considering just a few short weeks ago 60-90 seconds seemed Pretty impossible! ;-)

And glad you did Danny! One of my friends here (can't remember who) recommended it, and yes it made a big difference in how I felt w/the run! Hope she enjoys!

You can do it! I was so proud of myself after W5D3 that I threw my hands up in the air like Rocky. Think of it in chunks of 5 minutes (or if you're not timing - until the next song), not the whole 20 at a time. I also found that after the first 10 minutes I didn't feel like I was laboring so much and it became a bit "easier".

Road/Pavement. Tracks are dull as are treadmills. Hiking paths are unconstant. Road/pavement for me it is.

Trails, all the way! The trail I run on is mostly paved, although some parts are still dirt. Running on the trail is nice you get to commune with nature. Last Sunday I saw on my run, trees with fruits starting to bud on them, 3 bunnies, 1 cardinal, 1 frog, and several wild flowers. I kinda forgot I was even running. On the treadmill, I have the numbers staring me right in the face. I see every .01 of a mile as it tics by, I have to watch it ...there is nothing else to look at. BORING.

Thanks Jeanine! I'm never sure if I'll be able to do it when I start a new week (or heck, since week 5 isn't consistent through the week like the other weeks are, I'm feeling that with every single day this week haha) but I've done it so far.....LOL. Good job to ALL of us! For getting out there, first of all. And for challenging ourselves :-) It's fun!

That's what I love about Oak Openings too. Mallard Lake is always crowded on a nice day, but as soon as you get on the trails, you only see a couple people. :)

I'm not an expert, but since you don't actually have a 5K scheduled at the end, or any reason to go faster than necessary, take it slow! Are you going to get a lot of walking done in Rome? I mean, that wouldn't sub for a day of C25K, but it would keep you on your feet. (Also check how much potassium you're getting in a given day, about the cramping. I'm perpetually short.)

About which workout to do ... listen to your body. Don't move on until you're comfortable. No matter what workout you do, you're gaining in fitness and you'll eventually make it to the next step :)

And enjoy Rome! I got to see a little bit of Italy back in 2001, but I've been wanting to go back for years!
