Lovely evening -- but was dark by the time I finished -- should start a bit earlier I guess!

RUN
great rainbow bridge at dusk 6 mi 01:45 17:27 pace
Ooh, that felt great ... a perfect outing with faithful hound, and the perfect distance. I do get some lower back pain -- suggestions, anyone, for core strengthening exercises?
-
Great 6 miles Kirsten, its such a lovely time of the day to get out. The back pain should ease the fitter you get, so keep up with the walking/running. I did a 30 minute dance/exercise class that had 30 mins of stretches after focusing core strength, that really helped my fitness.

RUN
good Rainbow Bridge 5 mi 01:30 18:00 pace
s-l-o-o-o-o-w...still, beats sitting at computer like I usually do. And it felt OK! Better next time, yeah?

Nice Job:
Great distance Kirsten, the pace doesn't matter when you're getting out and running 5 miles! its a lot more then most people do!

RUN
great to A55 exit 2.5 mi 00:45 17:58 pace
Slow and fun -- it felt wonderful. Cool, breezy day by the sea. My goal at the moment is to increase frequency of runs more than either speed or distance, so this was fine!

Very undemanding, short run, slow even for me. But even a little makes a big difference in how I feel -- a real tonic.

Well, did Conwy Half last year and plan to repeat. (And hopefully improve.) Time to start getting ready! Might try some shorter ones but haven't looked into it yet.

RUN
tired Conwy half marathon 13.2 mi 03:39 16:34 pace
My first ever race. Did not go into it feeling springy and energetic and "on"; in fact felt tired from the first step. But the time was about what I expected. Finished the course, what ... read more

The weather was awesome today. Glad you got out and enjoyed it. I've been bitten by the not eating enough thing a couple of times. The key is timing. Have a decent snack or light meal a couple of hours before running. It makes a world of difference.

good Great Orme 4.3 mi 01:13 16:53 pace
Uphill section of Conwy HM. This is one a$$-kicking gorgeous route! Actually a lot easier than doing Bryn Euryn, which has much steeper trails. But challenging enough -- hope to do it again soon... read more

Rhos on Sea clock to Rainbow Bridge and back. Really, I felt like I had the stamina to do 10, but I thought it wise to go easy on my joints to avoid injury (I'm neither young nor skinny...)

Even if you don't feel like going for a run, put on your running gear and head out for a walk. You'll probably find yourself running after a little while.

RUN
great 5 mi 01:15 15:04 pace
Tried a fartlek run for first time, liked it a lot. No pressure, just fun -- I think this is my new religion!
-
they surprised me, too, with being more fun than I anticipated. I also like that they give me confidence that I can run a short 'spurt' and then recover from it, e.g. a short steep uphill in a race.

Good idea Kirsten. Fartleks can be fun, just need to warmup enough before hand.
