great Step and Strength class 01:00

Taught a great strength class to a room full of die-hards who battled the snow and traffic to get to the gym. They make it all worthwhile.

Just another day on the 'mill!

    good treadmill 10.2 mi 01:23 08:08 pace

I have been lazy about logging my workouts, but the training's been sluggish to match. I'm feeling great, but I'm not taking any chances with the ice and snow, so I've been ban... read more

Hey Kim! Do you have yak trax? They have made a difference for me on those iffy days as far as semi-dry/icy roads/sidewalks... I bought a cheapo pack at Costco and they do the trick... not perfect.. but of course the inversion is another story!

don't tell me you fell and got a concussion wearing yak-trax... then I need to re-think my confidence on them...

No, I didn't have yak trax, although I'm thinking about buying some. That day I fell it was because the city left a broken sprinkler on overnight when temps dipped into the 20's. There was over an inch of ice covering the road. I actually walked across it, but it was so slick that I just fell hard. The inversion, though, I will skip. This is the first week since before Christmas that I haven't been coughing or had a sore throat!

New PR!!! Maybe it was the chance to run outside. Maybe it was the sun that I hadn't seen in weeks. Either way, I felt fantastic! PR for me for the half distance. This is a tough, honest ... read more

Agreed. No sense in stressing over that which we have no control. If I can run through lightening, rain and hail at the TOU race last year, and wind at SLC, I can run through anything.
