A great GTS run with a member of the RNR Savannah Marathon team. His run/walk ratio (5:1) is a little more conservative than my normal 9:1. but the running pace was excellent. Plus walking more often is probably a really good idea while my Achilles continues to heal. And the conversation made the run absolutely fly by. I'm already looking forward to the next time we get to run together!
I'm really thrilled with my Achilles this week. I still think it will take at least the rest of the year before I get it near 100%, but this was easily the best week I have had in a long time. I think the cycling, strength training, and conservative running is slowly making a difference...at least I hope so!

Thanks, Bonnie. I suspect it will be a little tougher in the longer runs, but it is improving and that's all I can hope for. I don't know if I will be able to keep up with you in Savannah, but I'll do my best!

Thanks, Laura. Not quite as quick as your rocking 5K today, but I'll take it. Someday, maybe I'll get back into the times you are running these days...but it has been half a lifetime since I was that fast!

Great 8 miles and I can hear your achilles thanking you from down here. I'm sure the Savannah teammate enjoyed the time with you. You're quite the motivator, in my opinion.

Thanks everyone. As has been the case lately, my Achilles is sore and stiff now. But it is "less bad" than after my recent weekend runs. It's strange to me to measure improvement in this way, but it's the best way I know right now!
