I had a nice run with several members of the TNT team, a few of which I had never run with. The conditions were really tough -- very hot and humid. I was good for the first 5 miles, then I started to overheat. The last half-mile (uphill), I had to walk it in.
My left Achilles felt great the whole way...but my right Achilles was sore late in the run. Grrr...I suspect this is a case of compensating for one and hurting the other. I can tell that things are improving, but it is a slow process. I have to be patient!
Many thanks to the wonderful Bonnie G. for running a great GTS this morning!

We all anxiously await the Fall, right? LOL. Ken, you're so stoic and patient with the injury challenges you've faced as a runner. It's a a great quality. Good job today.

Thanks David. Most of the injuries have been silly. I mean who gets turf toe 3 weeks before their marathon? Or has their thyroid conk out while training for a marathon? This one is just annoying as much as anything. The pain factor is not so bad anymore; it's mostly just tight now. But I WILL get through this...and it is not like I am dealing with cancer or another life-altering illness, so who am I to complain?

What is turf toe? I'll have to google. Regardless, nice 8!

Turf toe is a type of sprain of your big toe. It got its name from the fact that football players sometimes get it from playing on AstroTurf. I always wondered how it could keep a pro athlete out for 4-6 weeks...until I had it. OH MY is it painful! And I was just running forward; they have to cut and move side to side. I won't make fun of them anymore!

Thanks, Jessica.
Annie -- We appreciated you being out there and you are always fun! It was a tough out there though. Even Avi was hurting after his first 6 miles...I'm not sure how he went back out and ran another 8!
