great Apple Triathlon - Run 5 km 00:30 09:39 pace

It was getting pretty warm out there - I'm guessing mid 20's by the time I ran - but my legs felt good. My goal was to stay under 30 minutes and I really thought I could have run about 29 minutes (5:45/km) but it was not to be. My first km was good and then I slowed down a little too much for the next two (not really realizing it). I negative split the race though and had a strong finish. I was sure I'd be under 30 minutes, but I was bang on. Rats. But all in all I'm pretty happy. :)

Since Erik was volunteering this year, nobody was there to see me cross the finish line but my daughter Angie met me about 5 minutes after and we hung out for a few hours. Overall, a great day!!

Post race - 1/2 Bliss Bakery Cinnamon Bun and Iced Carmel Macchiato, and 2 beers (drank each beer in about 10 seconds each #thirsty!!)
