great Tempo Run 16 km 01:48 10:50 pace

16k on tired legs after stressful day at work. Almost bailed at 10k, then 12, but pushed through. The plan called for 16km at marathon pace (6:45/km) and I hit that target right on. (woot)

It took my legs awhile to warm up - took a couple of short walk breaks but I felt ok overall. I ran part on the road and part on the gravel Greenway trail - the road is definitely faster. It had rained heavily all day and the creek was just roaring, with the bridge underpasses under water. Luckily, the weather began to break when I started running and it only rained off and on for the first hour and then is cleared.

9C showers, cloudy. tri shorts, started in LS tech, t shirt, and jacket, ended up in tshirt and vest. Water bottle, I gel to start and 1 gel half way.
