Not sure why this one sucked so bad today. I tried running without socks to see if that would help my callous/blister (my shoes are designed to be worn sockless but I usually don't). It didn't help. Right achilles was really tight for the first 1/2 mile and I just couldn't find a groove. Seriously, every 1/10 of a mile was a struggle and I was going slow. Stopped the running at 2 miles and did a fast walk/slow jog for the last mile on a 4-7% incline. Maybe I'll try again this evening...maybe not.

Sorry to hear it didn't go too well, Kelly. Hopefully later you can shake it off, or just worry about it tomorrow!

bummer on that! When and how did you get the blister to begin with? I would air that sucker out for a day or two and then try again. I dont think you will be happy later unless you go barefoot. :( feel better and way to get done what you did!

@Goz, I have had a growing callous on my right big toe and I got a blister under it during Sunday's race. Its annoying but I can usually push through it. Today I noticed it changing my gait and I don't want to get hurt 'cause I'm running like an idiot. ;-) Feel sort of stupid to get sidelined by a blister though!

Dont feel stupid.. shit happens. Usually it is the stupidest crap that fouls everything up! Sand that callous down and let that blister air out and I would give it 2 days-- not worth wrecking youself over. Look at the long pic. xo!

its not great running on a TM most of the time but with a blister it'll be even worse, at least you pushed through to do the 5k

Good idea to not run on something that's going to alter your stride. :-)

Girl, I am the blister queen! Can relate! For a blister under a callus, you either gotta wait it out or drain it. It's scary draining them yourself (if you don't know how deep it is, you may cut too deep). I would go in and have a doc drain it. You'll be good to go the next day if you get it drained! Good luck! And still don't know how you do that treadmill, but you rock! :)

Kelly - you are still a rock star and a running goddess - a bad run here and there only makes the good runs THAT MUCH MORE AMAZING! I'm sorry your foot is giving you troubles, but I have no doubt you be up and at it again pushing sub 8's in future runs - BECAUSE YOU ROCK!!! Never fear, bad runs help to highlight the good ones, you know?
