Dailymile makes it easy to keep track of your workouts. Map your routes and share with a community of active people.
A friend of mine sent me this link about a prototype GPS running watch called Bia. It sounds really interesting and I love that it has an emergency/alarm feature. They are raising funds in order to bring the product to market. It sounds interesting. Their deadline for fundraising is the end of this week. I am not affiliated with this at all but I applaud the effort and appreciate a good idea when I see it. Check it out:

Here's a little more info on that for you, Kelly. http://www.dcrainmaker.com/2012/06/bia-womens-gps-watch-my-detailed.html

I'm looking out for the new Garmin Fenix, due out in the Autumn

I'd heard about this, and I'm excited about it. I often wished that the Garmin had a safety alert of some sort. Since I live in the "middle of nowhere"/rural desert, I've wondered what I would do if I got hurt when I run out in the country.

@Shaindel B , you can get a satellite system that when activated it alerts rescue services that you are in trouble and need assistance, although you cant talk on it ,it's small but you only use it in emergency, it only sends a fix on your position, many climbers use them n the Highlands

@James, Good to know! I was just hoping for something smaller than a cell phone that could tell Jared to come get me. There's a dead antelope on my route that's been drying out forever, and I can't help but think, "Eeek!" every time I pass it. Sort of makes you think, "What if?"
