    1 hr swim 50" strength 01:50

Swim felt great! Finally starting to get the hang of it. Felt like I was gliding nearly effortlessly through the water. My timing is getting much better. Now need to focus on a better catch. Weight... read more

Worked on keeping cadence >=90 rpm. I have the same tendency that most runners who transition to tris have- mash on the pedals with big gears and low cadence. I've read again and again that... read more

I seem to be in a vicious injury cycle. I had 1 day of pain-free running in between the sciatica and my new problem, likely IT band issues on the right. So no running today for me despite a planned... read more

    1 hr indoor trainer + stretch... 01:00

Really trying to be consistent about stretching and core work for 2 reasons: (1) improve my swim and bike and (2) decrease my seemingly-increased injury risk.

  7. RUN
    Treadmill 5 mi 00:45 08:57 pace

Poor night of sleep due to kids who are scared of storms made for a a jarring awakening at 5:15, my 1st early AM workout in what seems like a long time. Had a tiny bit of nagging right lower leg pa... read more

Katherine, to accomplish a sub 3:30 a mere 4 weeks after pacing me to a BQ, not to mention while injured is an amazing feat! You are so incredibly tough. Way to go!!!

I am taking this entire last week leading up to NYC off from running to be conservative re: my leg. Instead spun for an hour.
