      While I do not have experience with this directly, perhaps using Thursday to 'stock up' on complex carbs and protein can help ensure a safe run come Saturday?I'll be interested to hear your experiences in the weeks ahead. Many blessings this Lent Karis!

    This was a meh run. It was 38* and raining with lots of traffic.. I couldn't regulate my body temp and so I kept fiddling with my hat and gloves... Summer come soon please.

      Maybe yoga? It works wonders for me -- for me it seems to be the perfect cross-training compliment for running.

      Also, if you haven't already, look into ART treatments. It's worked wonders on my hamstrings and I've read about others who have had success with it.

      I had ITBS this time last year. Foam roller and ice every night were the keys to getting over it. And drastically reduced running--no further than 2 miles at a time.

      Both good tips, thanks!! I've heard of the wonders of coconut water... But I just can't shell out 3 bucks for a tiny carton!

      And I'm going to grab some straws today - you're the second person to give me that same advice :)

      I get my coconut water on sale. Cost about 86 cents per each when I buy it in a 12 or 24 pack. Takes a bit of searching for a sale. I found the best deal at my local food co-op.
