      I think running in the dark is ok if you wear the reflective clothing or a blinking arm band or something to let people know you are there.

      Yes it is good to run without your garmin friend once in awhile. It can be freeing in some ways but I have to prepare my mind for it beforehand. I find it really horrid how easily we get addicted to something like our watch! Nice run!
