First Half Marathon ever! I was surprised and delighted to make it under 1:50. I ran with the 1:50 pace group most of the way, which helped. This race was definitely not easy, lots of hills, and lo... read more

good Silver Comet 10K 6.22 mi 00:46 07:26 pace
Felt good! Paced myself pretty well, ran a 7:30 pace which was my goal. I wasn't sure I could do it, and was pleasantly surprised that this race felt so much better than the Charles Harris.

So nice to meet you, Karen! Also, great to see you on Daily Mile. You ran an awesome race yesterday! I told Mary this morning that I ran into you at the Silver Comet 10K and that you did a super job. She thinks a lot of you and evidently knows you are a fast runner too!

Karen
You rock! I'm very impressed you achieved your goal despite the heat, the hills AND the blisters!

Karen, that's phenomenal! I have been reading reports coming in from a whole bunch of girl friends. Almost all of them have been coming in just over 2 hrs. For your first half marathon, and a very hard one at that, you did better than great! Take care of those toes. I know how that is from my recent rainy marathon. Your next half is bound to be flatter, and I bet you will shave more than 5 minutes off your time (based on your 10K time and all your training with Mr. "Maximus")! Way to go!!

Really great job Karen. Nice that they had pacers for the half. That rarely happens and glad you got to take advantage of it.
