OH man...you know I love that, Karen. That is the best feeling when you are running light and tight and everything feels right. At that point, who cares about pace? It is all about that feeling. Of course, the best part is that you will probably make more strides running for the love of it, then you do running a schedule. Love always wins out over the schedule. Great post.

Yes, exactly. I've been a little too focused on the numbers lately and need to remember why I love to run. :)

That's great Karen. Way you go! I agree, focusing too much on numbers can be a complete drainer. Run to enjoy it, it should not cause you any stress... It's for de-stressing your mind, not causing more worries:)

I am a competitive guy. I run with some competitive folks. Some have questioned my process of late regarding training. Right now I am running well. But, I am also trying to enjoy it and it is tied to the social for me. Some people are all about times and being methodical. I have been. I have no problem with folks who are. I think you can explore all these roads. There is no right way.

It's a balance for sure, Larry. Right now I'm a little obsessive about the numbers, and it's not doing me any favors. Today, anyway.

I'm getting older and slower, so I'm on a different part of the arc. I try not to be critical of those in a different place. Same with new runners. It's all progress. I am battling not to fall off the cliff. I think back to some of the thoughts I had when I was more hard core. I had some elitist attitudes. Life is fluid.

Well done ... I really try to run with this as a general attitude most of the time but I do get caught up in the numbers too much sometimes and have to refine my proper focus ...
