It would be completely awesome to run with you, too! Where you are, not where I am :) Too cold here. I hear exactly what you're saying. I don't have any DM friends to run with, either, except my bf. I would like to meet the people on my list, but a lot of them are so far away, I probably won't ever meet them. What you're doing is also pretty cool! The barefoot hiking bit is rockin and I hope I get to experience that someday! Have fun out there!

as soon as I dropped out the womb! hahaha! Well, perhaps only shortly after that. Of course, what I mean by running barefoot consists of whatever hike we go on up the valleys and ridges across the streams and waterfalls of this island I call home! Although last year i split the bottom of my foot open on the reef while surfing and it kinda messed up some nerves in my right foot. Still trying to get back after that! And you?

I've been doing barefoot/minimalist running for almost 1 year (will be 1 year in May). Obviously, not acclimated to barefooting in snow, so I got some water shoes to get me through the winter... but same running technique (striking on the ball or mid-foot). My sister does barefoot hiking out in Colorado, it sounds awesome. Hope your foot heals from the reef incident! That coral can be super sharp!

Since it's inside below your joint line, I'm wondering if it could be more of a pes anserine issue. Sartorius, Gracilis and Semitendinosis all attach in that one spot they call pes anserine. So my guess would be making sure that you're properly stretching hamstrings and adductors/inner thighs. There is also a bursa in this spot so it's possible that could get irritated from time to time. After your runs, I definitely recommend ice!

Thanks amanda! I guess I still think I'm a young kid that has perfect joints but the years are starting to wear on me. Definitely started icing after all my runs!
