How many people here have or do so on a regular basis run at night? I'm talking 11:30 PM type night. Any scary stories to keep in mind? Or just wear some bright clothes and stick to the sidewalks good enough? I'm just finding my days have been too busy lately to get a run shoved in.

I don't do it regularly and my stories won't help really but I ave done it. I would think that would be ok. Make sure you tell someone where you are going just in case. Maybe take a flash light. I twisted my ankle one time on a late night run!

haven't run at night in years, but I would think that as long as are aware of your surroundings and wear light colored clothes or wrist/ankle or vest lights you'd be okay.

Maybe find a track close to your house that is lit up.

I've done a few. I've used a flashlight, but if I did it on a regular basis I'd get a headlamp.

One of my friends runs very late in the evening. I would think just make sure you're aware of your surroundings, as mentioned already. I'd stick close to home also. Plus would be the weather! Not hot, maybe humid. But better than hot and humid. My only problem with running/exercising so late is that I have a hard time getting to bed because my body is in awake mode right after a run!

Pre-kids I always ran at night (though not that late). In the dark-whether it be at night or super early, I always try to stay on main roads with sidewalks if possible and wear a vest and headlamp. I had to take my hubs to the airport on Wed at 3 a.m. and we saw 2 guys out running! We wondered if they were out late or up early!
