    I'm out of shape and even worse had to carry a cycling water bottle, had to borrow GUs, and worst of all -- didn't prep for chaffing. Ouch. But I challenged myself and got it done.

      Yikes... hopefully you'll get back in shape! Guy I know did that (ran 15 miles when out of shape) and ... never ran again, the pain afterward was so bad. I hope for a better result for you.

    1 mile straight up on technical terrain and then another 8 or 9 miles (GPS wasn't working well with the thick tree cover). Hard but fun.

    Took my boy on some real trails for the first time. So rocky and hilly but he did great.
