Well Hello everyone. So it’s that time again, Marathon Training. I’m going to spend the next 24 weeks preparing for the Quad Cities Marathon. Sunday September 23, 2012 I will attempt to once again Just Finish. I would also like to beat my time last year of 4 hours 49 minutes and I would prefer injury free this year.
Lots of life changing things have happen since I ran my very first marathon last year. Last year I worked really hard to get healthy and fit. My entire life revolved around doing everything to get healthy and fit. I spent between 3 and 6 hours most days running, biking, lifting, swimming, walking, or doing martial arts. My entire life revolved around finding me, being happy, letting go of some negative family and friends, and feeling good about life and the direction it was going. So par my usually I took being healthy and fit to an extreme that consumed my entire life leaving little time for anything else and over the last 5 months I have fallen back into some of my old unhealthy ways.
I learned a lot and gain a lot through my experiences training for the marathon last year. This year so much has changed, I have a loving fiancé , I have a larger support of family and friends, I have people that are training for the marathon with me. The next 24 weeks I will take all of the extremes I have lived in life and figure out a way to balance all aspects of life that I want forever. I want to be health and fit, I want to enjoy the work I do, I want to spend time with family and friends, I want to paint, I want to go out and do stuff, I want to plan my wedding, and I want to walk Maddy. Basically I just want to live a healthy happy balanced life.
So if you ever wanted to Run/Walk and feel what it was like to cross the finish line of a Marathon or even a half marathon, 10k or 5k then join me. Figure out what you are willing to commit to, find a training schedule and pick a start date and start training, start moving, and Do Life.
And for those of you that have no desire to torture yourself for fun please support, encourage and cheer those of us that are crazy and plan to Just Finish.
