      Sometimes a rest day is exactly what we need. Treat yourself to one and come back more energized and ready to rock and roll. 4 mi at 9:26 is still pretty darn terrific, Jules ;-)

    20, windy and icy out. Indoor track run, got pretty mentally bored today, which is unusual for me. Subconsciously making a grocery list while working out? Time to shake things up a bit.

      How do you like the indoor track compared to a treadmill? Seems a little more interesting at least. Unless you like to watch TV.

      I mentally can't handle a treadmill. I just can't get in that "zone-out" state that I need for the higher miles. At least on the indoor track I feel like I'm moving, I can pretend I'm outside :)

      woo hoo!! Good for you for getting 8 miles done while sick that's so awesome!! Makes me feel like I really shouldn't whimp out tonight and just go run. So tired+shin splint but my lungs are fine and that's all you need besides your legs right? Feel better!!!

      Awesome run Jules!!!! And fabulous pace. I hope I can pull the same with my run tonight, only planning to run 3 but with hills, but am sooo tired. This has inspired me, gonna think positively when I hit the gym. If you did it, I can too :)

      Well at 20 degrees with wind I think that can make you feel sluggish but that's still a really good pace on a nice 6 miler

      It's awesome to watch kids run. My boys just start flying, smile on their faces, talking the whole time (as I'm gasping and trying to keep up!). It's just so natural to them. Took my older son (he's 9) with me to a 5k, expecting to walk most of it. The little stinker ran the entire thing like it was a lap around the block. You never know where motivation will smack you in the face!

    Whew...busy Christmas! Missed my running shoes terribly. :/ On the flip side, got a foam roller for Christmas. Anyone use these? Holy painful heaven, batman...they're amazing.
