Long run for the week and it was a little warm -- should have gone out earlier. Pace is slower and I felt it at the end. Should have taken more water or my watered down Gatorade concoction. Need to ramp up my speed if I'm going to break 3 hours for the HM.

    Great long run Joy. Have you thought about taking an energy gel or something similar with you? Water won't be a problem in the HM because of the water stations, so it might help you to boost your energy on such long runs.

    @Madmaggy, yes, you are so right. I'm not a fig fan of the gels, but I really noticed an improvement when I brought Gatorade and water and drank that after an hour. Made a big difference.

    I learnt this the hard way, I always focussed on water during my training, paid little attention to energy, and when I did my HM I kinda hit a wall at the 19km point, really struggled with the last 2km. Afterwards I realised if I'd just had some fuel those last few kms might have been a bit easier. Great job all the same!
