I go through that every weekend. Monday morning the scales read OMG! And by Friday they are looking pretty good. Then the cycle starts all over. I keep saying if I could eat clean over the weekend I could lose those extra pounds that haunt me. But I give myself permission to relax also. I think I'll go have another beer. ;)

RUN
alright Morning Jaunt 1.8 mi 00:28 15:37 pace
This shortie was just as hard as last night's run. Kinda discouraged about that. I wish I could get back to that run where there was effort, but not feeling like it was crushing me.I know &q... read more

As you increase mileage, sometimes you will find that there is more effort because your body is in recovery mode and you are making it work again. THis is not a bad thing, but generally won't make them feel "easy". Way to keep at it Joy. Tick tick, miles are counting away this month.

I read your post last night and have been thinking about it often. It is a good question, and I don't think there's necessarily a right answer. I think every BODY is different. I truly believe that some people are predisposed to be heavier. With that said, what do YOU really want? If you are comfortable with where you are weight-wise, then just maintain. If you want to lose more, then you need to exhaust more/all possibilities. I don't know what you have all tried - food journals, interval work...

doctor (have you had your thyroid checked?) When my kids were younger, I couldn't understand why I was gaining weight; well - I wasn't counting those uneaten fries and chicken nugget calories! They added up quickly. I thought I was eating around 1500 calories - it was closer to 2500! Plateaus are to be expected - have you considered HIIT workouts (high intensity interval training)? Keep up the good work - despite not losing the weight, you are living a healthier life style and being an awesome role model!

As for the fit yet fat question (that doesn't sound right to me, btw!), I think you CAN be fit yet heavier! Your blood work is good, you feel good; I think you're so much more ahead of the game than you think (and than most people!)
