I did this same workout (and same route) 2 weeks before Colorado Marathon, and that turned out ok -- so I figured I'd throw it on the schedule again. Solid effort right from the start, and with 1,200' of elevation gain, this was 95% MP pace, but definitely an MP-level effort. Avg HR 155. Another nice morning!

If it worked before don't change it! If I recall you had a very solid Colorado Marathon. Can't wait to see how St George goes. I checked out the details online and what a cool race.

Ok.I am jealous you have this DONE. And you nailed it. Awesome work out there. That's an amazing pace, especially given the crazy elevation gain. You are SO ready for St. George.

I've never seen your pace or HR vary that much on a run. Looks like you tossed in a few strides/sprints with recovery, I'm guessing so since it would explain the charts. More important - great run with a great time. Looks like you're going to rock at St. George.

@Erik - I was trying to keep HR above 150 but under 160, which on the flat & downhill sections allowed for sub-7 and on the uphills, more like 7:30-8. @Kelly - yep. This week was kind of a pre-taper week. Big drop in miles is in this coming week and next (race week)!
