    Warm up miles then 10 x 1 minute at 3k pace (5:40) 1 minute jog between. Felt very quick and fast tonight. Just a few more key workouts left before the CIM in less than two weeks.

      Mike: "Peaking" is the what I'm doing -- reducing volume 30%, mostly in the long run, and keeping speed work except for about 4 days prior to the event.

      good way to go, bypassing the burnt out taper. not so here, floundering along after curbing the enthusiasm, trying to dial down into taper mode; second guessing that strategy now, not having made it to intervals since a nice set of halves at the beginning of the month...

    Side stitch made me double over and walk in mile 2.5 otherwise I was close to PR pace. Mile splits: 5:48, 6:07, 6:42, 5:34(last .2) 3rd AG(.2 seconds from 2nd) 22nd OA.
