I get the same comments. What barefoot shoes do you wear? Really??? I told another runner at my local 5K, that the biggest problem was replacing my feet every couple hundred miles.

That's good stuff. Have you found that when you are ready to replace your old 'shoes' the last style is no longer available and you need to get used to a new pair??? Ha ha ha. Or you could always respond, 'I'm not your average barefoot runner, i don't wear those barefoot shoes'.

I'm going to use that one next time. Next time someone looks at me strange I'm going to ask them if their feet hurt when they run in those shoes. I think Philly will be a good race for lots of conversations. Nov 18th for my first road half. Did 10 miles yesterday on a hilly course at just 18 sec over my half marathon goal of 2 hours. So i figure a flat course and adrenalin should make up at least 18 seconds

I had some great encouragement from a couple local friends and also from my fellow competitors. Funny, though, not too many of the cyclists I passed had much to offer in the way of support, lol. Must have been because of the rain, yeah, that's probably why.
