      You got it! I will be anxious to hear. You probably won't know anything today though and will have to wait through the week-end. That will be hard, but hopefully an answer is on the way!

      So glad that the bootcamp is working for you. Sounds like he race was fun and enjoyable for the whole family. :D You'll laugh at me: I had to Google San Juan Bautista to figure out where that was. Let me know about the date for the event, and maybe I'll see you there! PS I'm also planning to volunteer at the Morgan Hill Marathon next month, so perhaps a meetup after that event?

      Ah, Mike, you are very observant!! Here's the story: Shortly after I bought my Newtons, Amanda tried them on and REALLY liked them. So off we went to the store to buy her a pair That's the only color they come in--lol!! I wear size 9, and she wear 9 1/2, so we can't mix them up. :>}

      Good idea to get checked out. I would even suggest a podiatrist, you might need orthotics.

      Thanks, Dan & Mike. Dan, I plan to go slow and give it a try barefoot. If it doesn't work well, I can stop doing races for awhile. Mike, I'm not totally against orthotics, but I'm really close to it--loll! I've been able to get such a better idea of my footstrike and form since I've been doing barefoot walking. I'll be honest and say that my right ankle hurts more since I've done barefoot, but my right knee hurts LESS. The saga continues--lol!! I keep taking a day at a time and trusting the Lord.

      Go with whatever your body allows. If you can't run, walk. If you can't walk, ride bike. If you can't ride, swim! I have also noticed some regular bike riders are able to run 5k's well although sore afterwards. So you can still do 5k's on limited training!

      Thanks, Mike, for the input. Yes, 5Ks are fairly easy do if one is crosstraining. 10Ks and longer are a different story, but 5Ks are easy. I'm actually excited about the prospect of doing this race barefoot. It will be a good learning experience for me. And even if I decide not to do it, I will have other races. :>}
