Is this not cheating when you already know when you've placed the controls. Jim will be king of the super vets.

Erm no - I'm too honest. I shall ride on the day as non-competitive (no change there then!!!) just to have a ride out. Then I'll help collect the control boxes in at the finish.
OH, I did'nt mention - we only visited 6 control sites today?!?!? Got another 24 to do.

I use km Adrian (would hate for you to think I was doing more than you think!). It goes back to trailquests and using metric OS maps.

Excellent singletrack - the longest in Kielder. Some short sharp up bits had my old ticker red lined at least four times!!

It's called killer Kielder for a reason. Beware the insects. It's been ages since I've been up there.

Surprisingly yesterday was midge free! Or at least very few about. The Lakeside Way at 26 miles is a good work out, albeit the track is 'smooth'. I fancy doing the Lakeside Way anticlockwise having done the blue first. Make a good long ride that would. A visit to the cafe afterwards is always a pleasure.

I like the lake loop. As you'd expect Stu fancies having a go at the record, something like 1hr 40/50.... That should be easy.
