Crimson Trail 5.07 mi 01:09 13:41 pace

I wanted to get some dirt time in. Done. This is a pretty tough climb up and down with a rocky rolling section along a cliff in the middle.

While I was up on top I decided I'd like a closer view of the trail so I carefully placed my foot off the trail and used my face, hand and elbow to catch my body as I let gravity take it to the trail.

I fell. I banged my elbow pretty good, cut a finger and scraped my nose and forehead a little. Luckily I wasn't too close to the cliff at the moment. It took me a while to get moving again because my elbow was really sore. I had been carrying a bottle of water in one hand and my phone in the other. I don't think I like to have my hands full when running. My phone got a little scratched and dirty and the bottle was fine but I think I could have fallen more in control if I had some hands available.

Good climb today. A little under 2000' according to Garmin.

Have a great day everyone! Don't forget to get up when you fall.

Ouch! I hate carrying stuff too but I'm guessing you hate it now more than me. I haven't been on that trail for a long time. I'll have to go soon. Maybe you're skid mark will still be there. :p

Ouch on the fall. Hope you are okay and glad you were able to catch yourself with your face since your hands were occupied. Nice trail run today.

I'm glad the bottle is fine. LOL That sucks dude! I love how eloquently you described it though. :)

The second paragraph is a thing of beauty :). My handheld once saved my hand from becoming burger. Glad you are ok. Hope the elbow feels better, at least you don't run on it ;).

Good work and nice catch. Could have been worse! Hey one of my buddies signed up for his first 100 at the Bear in Logan. If I can make it work out I am planning to come down and pace through the night!

It was just a bottle of water that I refilled. No loss there. Ryan, that would be cool if you came down to help your friend out. You know I'm not too cool to pace someone I don't know if he needs some more crew or pacers but I'll need to get a permission slip first.

2000'? You are the man. That is damn impressive stuff. Sucks about the spill though although chicks did scars so good luck with that.

I don't think it'll scar but it seems more obvious today than yesterday.
