Thanks Bryan! I am on the mend, feel much better after today's run! I drink the powder with my water Laurie, I tried the smoothies before and they were ok, but I actually think I still have some in the cupboard...weren't my fav.

Also forgot to mention that when I swam 50m consecutively I timed myself and I did it in 1min 11sec, so I'm working at a good pace for the try-a-tri...just need to improve technique and endurance which I'm sure will take time! Practice Practice Practice!

Wise approach to challenge yourself. I sometimes find the TM boring when I have to use it and playing games or just reminding myself that there is no option not to do it is helpful. Great race against yourself Jenny.

You can do it!! By the way, Guelph Lake is pretty decent to swim. It doesn't have a lot of undertows or anything like that. I remember when they made the lake. It flooded my friend's grandparents farm (they were basically forced to do sell the farm but it really helped the watershed). If you like we could go out a week or so before and have a picnic and you can practice on-site. We could make a day of it.

OMG LAURIE that would be AWESOME!!! I'm sure Derek and I will want to get out into some body of water somewhere to practice so that would be cool! Especially if you guys brought a canoe or something to rescue us with! haha ;)

It had to be done... the watershed really needed that dam to prevent flooding. The lake is a great part of the community. We would often picnic there and swim after work. We'd drive onto the island. The beach isn't as pristine there but the dogs are allowed to swim at the island. The only drawback to Guelph Lake... there is a crap load (pun intended) of goose poop on the ground. Anyway, it would be fun and it would allow you to get familiar with the lake you'll do your tri in. Go Jenny!

Just the 25K at the Toad. I have now decided on 3 Try-a-tri's also for the summer. My schedule is looking full already! Love it!!! The Niagara 1/2 has been the most beautiful race I've done yet, the Toad has been the most adventurous, and the Try-a-tri's will be a combination of both and super exciting and new! Looking forward to this year! I have always been interested in doing the Womens Half in TO but doesn't look like it will be in the cards this year!
