Internet was out earlier, so just now getting to this:

Casey and I met up bright and early (5am) with a solid group this morning-- Matt B. (who was putting in a massive 50k training run--rock star), Luke S. (who showed up for moral support and high 5's before FSU on his own), Brian A. (new guy to the group--nice to finally meet you!), Kris M. (new mommy, dedicated to pre-baby fitness levels) & Jeff F. (in it for the long haul!).

Casey is following a plan for his first marathon, so he did his thing after a mile or so. Matt took the rest of us through Clayton/U. City before breaking off around mile 8 to head downtown. He was doing an out & back before meeting up with Amy Z. (what a great supporter she is!) later on. Kris & Brian had about 10 on their schedules, so they cut off after another loop in Forest Park. Jeff and I headed out again for another loop to make up the 16. He was a trooper--longest run since last fall's marathon. Thanks for the company! Even ran into David S. as we were finishing--he was with a group of guys, one of them manned the aid station I helped with at the Berryman 50 (Luke's killer 50miler!)

Nice, steady splits for Matt's ultra training--great conversational pace. Then Jeff and I started to drop it.

THEN, last 4 called for faster, so that's what we did:
8:27, 7:57, 7:41, 7:37

Side note. Wore the trail shoes again and I have *never* dealt with blisters, other than when I broke in my A4's at a 5k with no socks but darnit if those shoes didn't give me one on my left ankle...even had a hot spot on the ball of my foot. Hmmm.

Overall nice run. Got pretty warm by the end & feet were kinda pissy but legs were still doing alright. Hit the pool post run. :)
