F@ck. warmed up nice and easy, legs and hip felt great and no pain, at about .9 I thought when I hit a mile I'm gonna stop and stretch really well and then at about .95 mile the hip popped and tightened up like before. Well not as bad as before but I knew something went. Walked the 1.25 back to the car - tried to jog a couple times and nope...no go. Haven't run for 2.5 weeks - been doing yoga and other low impact workouts to give time to heal - got new shoes - and shit...back to hip tightness and unable to run AGAIN!

Anyone local know a good sports injury therapist? F@CK!!!

Poop on a poop-stick! I am sorry. That sucks. I know a great guy here in VA, but that's not going to help.

Do you have a foam roller? Try to roll it out a bit. I also recommend acupuncture. I had some extreme hip tightness and she helped tremendously! Sorry you are hurt. I hope you feel better soon.

Jennifer, I'm sorry. I would recommend trying a foam roller, some stretching and probably seeing a doc. I hope you get better soon.

Been there, done that. (That is the crying out of frustration/anger at being injured.) It sounds like ITBS from your description. If it is ... how can I say this... closer to the skin (?) it DEFINITELY sounds like ITBS. If it feels like it's almost in the bones, that would be something like tendonitis/bursitis. Obviously, I am not a doctor by a long shot, but have had my fair-share of hip injuries/issues. Try not doing anything for a week. I know that sucks, but I had to quit just about EVERYTHING

for a while when my ITB when to shit. And see a massage therapist who knows sports injuries and does deep tissue massage. Not some "spa massage" person. An ART chiro would be your best. When you come back, work on your glutes. There, that is my unsolicited advice. Because I'm Tab and that's what I do. Give unsolicited advice. Oh, and find my friend Chris G from Florida. He just got over a bad ITBS thing and is doing fabulously (I think. wink) GOOD LUCK GIRL! Go drink a beer.

Shoot, Jennifer. I'm sorry you're having problems again. I'm with the foam rolling, rest, and see a doc camp :) Keep us posted?
