Ok. So all I can say is that I. Am. Flying. According to my Garmin, I hit my fastest 10K at 10:07 and change (which doesn't include my 10K PR of 1:04 based on a short course). And I went back and did the comparison to last year at this time.

On June 27, 2014, I ran 7.14 in 1:33:33 for a 13:06 pace. On July 26, 2014, I ran 6 in 1:13:15 for a 12:12 pace. And my pace didn't dip down under 11 until well after the marathon in January, even for my shorter, 5K length runs.

This is so huge.

Whoa!!!!!!!!! Are you kidding me???? That is a breathtaking improvement, Jennifer...almost in the realm of the miraculous! Heheheheheeeeee Seriously, you should be living on cloud nine! Your confidence should be soaring! And just think, this is SUMMER!! It's HUMID out there! Imagine what this will translate into this fall and winter. Steadfast discipline and indefatigable determination have produced this, Jenn. I'm thrilled with you and join you in singing, "I Believe I Can Fly!" -:)

In fairness, there MAY have been some bridges in some of those longer runs last year, but still. It's a huge difference. And I surely can't explain it. I don't know if it's not having the weight of the marathon hanging over me, or if the change in intervals made a difference or what, but I am so ridiculously happy. My goal race is Space Coast, and I am really curious as to what I'm going to be able to accomplish there.

Hi Jennifer, thanks for the FR! I haven't had time to look at some of your previous workouts, but wow..that is some serious progress! I did Space Coast last year..it's a great course to PR on if the weather isn't too Florida like:-)

Train for another marathon and you'll be running in the 9's this time next year( just don't tell Darrell). Great job on the progress Jennifer.

No more marathons for this girl! Maybe I'll get to the 9s without it.

Mike, it's abandoning the Marathon that has her faster and better! Listen to Uncle Darrell. The marathon training hurts more people than it helps. The half is where it is...Yeah, baby!!!! America's #1 racing distance!!! -:) The current Runner's World Magazine features HALF MARATHON MANIA. Read to your heart's delight, Mike! -:)
