I'm so frustrated. I took 2 weeks off after Muddy Buddy to rest my shin splints. I went out for a first run back today, and I couldn't even make it a mile before the muscles on the outside of my ankles got fatigued to the point that my footstrike was affected, so I had to stop to walk. I can't seem to train for anything without getting some sort of overuse injury, and when I take some time off, I have to start almost completely over with my training. I've been running for a little less than a year. I've ramped up my distance very slowly, followed well-established training plans... and all its gotten me is knee pain, shin splints, and plantar fasciitis. Almost a year, and I can't even make it 1 mile. ARGH. Half marathon in a month, too.
