73F. I could feel the cape in the wind behind me. (Everything is relative.)

Wooooo hoo! The cape was a' flyin'! (Remember your recent comment about how you and me should really try to be uninjured at the same time...? Well, as you fly the superman cape, I'm sitting at the clinic waiting for images of my left tibia. Methinks there be a stress fracture. Too much speed in the downhills on Sunday. D'oh!)

Felt good to be out there today. Six bikes, three walkers, and six horses.

  3. RUN
good SWW New Loop 3.85 mi 00:38 09:45 pace

There was walking. I seem to have a tough time beyond mile two in the heat (84F). I've been trying hard to control breathing and heart rate for the past two days, but have not been at all su... read more

Every day a little easier. Every day a little faster. No worries, man -- you're totally on the path. (And drinkin' jet fuel, to boot!)

Thanks, DB. I just finished my morning beet juice. I need to check my BP to see if there has been any change. I keep forgetting to check that out. BTW - Some foot pain this morning and I tweaked a knee last weekend. Still sore (knee), so I think I might take the weekend off and mend a bit. I will check back in on Monday or Tuesday. Have a great holiday weekend.

Tried to test myself in the heat today (91F). Failure. Walking after mile two. Arg.

No question, J, heat just sucks the life out of you. Especially unpredictable heat. Way easier to become acclimated in a place like Austin than up there. I remember skipping runs in MN when it was in the 90s. It felt like torture.

Nice morning run. I did not make it back to the trails last night. Motivation on Sunday evenings is a bit tough as it turns out.

Ha! Let me know if the beets really do make a difference with longevity.

Quite the conflict brewin' in the dishwasher there... A mix of highfalutin superiority and wicked envy. After all, you can't juice a cake. (Awesome long loop, dude.)

You can't have your beet juice and drink it too?

@Katie M: The longevity has to do with distance *running*, honey. Sorry 'bout your luck.

good SWW New Loop 3.85 mi 00:35 08:59 pace

Hot afternoon run, but managed to take a little time off the new loop. If you run a new loop frequently, the PRs just keep coming. I am the master of my own domain. It's just a small one.

Being "present" on the trails. I love it, too. The psychological effects of trail running are second to none. Nice miles, though, bro.

Isn't it amazing how a little change in the weather can add ten pounds to each leg? That's the worst. But (one of my personal life-quotes): "The best way out is always through." --Robert Frost. Way to bust through it, bro.

I felt good today. I think the humidity was down and I have had a few easy days in a row. It's coming back slowly, but I like the slow build. I am not running sore all the time.
