That happened to me a few months ago- although it was the weekend and I didn't have to get to work after my run. I just kind of wandered up and down these streets for a while until I finally came out on a main road near my house. I wasn't that far from home at all the whole time but I was just completely unfamiliar with any of the streets.

I qualified at CIM after coming within two minutes at Chicago. Only problem with CIM is that it is late in the year and registration for 2011 will likely be closed by the time you qualify. I look at sea level and elevation (decline.) :)

I ran my first marathon just a few months ago, myself in Oct of 09. I still have a long ways to go to get my time into the BQ zone. It's totally a dream of mine though. :)
