One of my slowest races in a while. I knew early on it was not going to be a tough day when I started feeling my right calf cramp around mile 3. Not sure why but decided at that point, I had to just manage it and make sure it didn't full on cramp on me. Saw Penny S. around mile 5 going down Seapoint and ran with her a bit until we lost each other after the water station before getting back onto PCH. From there, I ended up taking 30 second to 1 minute walk breaks every mile just to let my legs settle down and then just plug away as much as possible until I got to the end. Also saw another friend of mine, Mike B., around mile 7 (didn't even know he was going the half today so surprised me). I did make it to the end without fully cramping up which was good but couldn't really muster much out of my legs today. Beautiful day out today though and it was nice getting to look out into the ocean during the race.

nice time for cramps... I think it would have added an hour to my time if it happened to me.

Thanks for the support everyone. Looking forward to the next one. Right now not signed up for anything else except Disney Half in Sept... Oh, and Ragnar SoCal in April.

Tough break! I saw a bunch of people stretching out along the course. It was warm. I had to take off my long sleeves in the middle of the course. Tried to look for you but it was packed!

Cool on Ragnar. I am doing that, too. For my first time. I've always wanted to do it but this year I'm making it a priority instead of trying to fit it in amongst other things.
