  1. RUN
alright Rancho Santa Susana Park 2.54 mi 00:25 09:50 pace

I didn't feel as good or as strong as the last time out, but I still finished three laps on the dirt track and feel alright. I'm starting to look forward to running again!!!

  2. RUN
good Rancho Santa Susana Park 2.52 mi 00:26 10:23 pace

My first run of the year and actually my first run in over 6 months. The foot really felt good today and that gives me some much needed running confidence for my next time out.

  3. RUN
    good 3.1 mi 00:35 11:13 pace

Great morning run with Samantha A. around the neighborhood. Foot acted up a bit in the middle but I felt good overall and could have put in more miles at the end.

  4. RUN
good Galloway Group Run 3.14 mi 00:36 11:36 pace

First time back with the running group in over 4 months. It was an easy 3 miler, but it was really good to get out there and see everybody this morning. Everything felt good and the slower pace d... read more

Glad to see you back at it Jason. Easy does it. What did you do to your foot anyway? Fracture? Strain? Happy healing!

Rachelle, there is some debate about whether it is a stress fracture or a bone bruise in the ball of my foot. X-rays were negative, but either way, I still have some swelling and discomfort. Nothing that I won't survive!

Ugh! I know the ball of the foot pain all too well. I fractured one of the pea sized bones in the ball of my foot a couple of years ago. It took about 12 weeks for it to heal and then much longer for the pain to go away. I ended up doing some physical therapy which helped and I wear custom orthotics. I hope you have a speedy recovery! It's good you are easing into it although your pace seems a bit fast. ;-)

  10. RUN
good Still Close to Home 1.56 mi 00:14:27 09:15 pace

A little more distance today. Still building up strength and trying to keep the swelling in check. Tough to run out there at 93 degrees this evening!

I have been off of it since April 10th. I can not run on it without pain. A little worried that a boot might be in my future.

Tired legs this morning, but managed to keep myself moving for 30 minutes. Still not ready to get back out and running, but the bike is at least a good substitution while I get better.

Feel better! If that bruise doesn't go away soon, I'd go see a podiatrist. I felt the same way a while back and found out I was walking around on a fractured foot. Not to scare you or anything though! Just monitor it. Take it easy. You'll be back at in no time!
