      That's a tough question to answer. Recently I backed off for a few weeks but still did a few miles here and there. I felt like when it came time to get back into a routine I was sluggish and felt out of shape. Of course it could be heat related. But if you need a week or two off, I don't think it would set you back. Take care of yourself... You know what is best for you.

      about two weeks and you should still be near your fitness level you were at when you took the break. anything over about 2 weeks and you start loosing some of it. take a break! it is good for your body!
