My training schedule: You need to run 3 miles today.
Me: Well, I've still kind of got a little bit of a cold. Kind of congested...
My training schedule: THREE. MILES. TODAY.
    Me: Ugh, fine.

Great job sticking to the schedule! Nice run, especially with a cold!

Jamie remember who is in charge you or a schedule. Go with the flow if you feel Ugh some days do some re arranging, catch up over the next few days. Look at the longer term my friend.

Nice job Jamie - sometimes it's tough putting those miles in when we are a bit under the weather - way to go!

Long run at the gym. Kinda boring.

  8. RUN
    alright 3 mi 00:33 11:00 pace

Ran out of energy on this one for some reason. I think I hadn't eaten enough in the day. Catch 22!

  9. RUN
    good 3 mi 00:30 09:50 pace

Finally, this is more like it and I think I figured out why. After buying new shoes and inserts a few weeks ago, I started getting pain in my left calf and lower shin during runs. I couldn't even g... read more

  11. RUN

First long(ish) run under the new schedule/program. Took it slow and easy, though. I'm surprised at how much conditioning I lost over the Christmas break. I may repeat this week in the schedule jus... read more

Nice miles Jamie - I think we are all recovering to some degree from the holiday schedule disruptions - so hang in there!

  12. All righty, I've officially started my training plan for my first full marathon later in 2012. Possibly in May, but definitely by October if not.

Congrats! (I'll do that again when you finish and write us a race report!) My recommendation: go for the full in October with a goal of "finish and have fun" and do the the half in May with the goal of a new PR under 2 hours. Spread out the racing fun!

Probably a good idea. I think a sub 2 hour half is a good goal. We'll just have to see how the training goes.

    good 3.14 mi 00:30 09:33 pace

Feel like I'm finally getting used to the new shoes. Muscle tightness and pain in my calves and shins is down to merely "annoying" at this point.
