good Stratton Faxon Fairfield Half... 13.1 mi 01:56 08:51 pace
This race is ALWAYS my slowest of the year by a long shot - but always a good time. The course is VERY hilly and with the heat and humidity...it is a challenging run!

good lactate testing a year later ... 5.25 mi 01:00 11:25 pace
learned more today. apparently I am one pretty dehydrated gal!!! that accounts for my awful sluggish runs lately, my calf issues and my wacko heartrate! time to drink up! water that is!

Jamie
must do 17 this sunday.....great job jamie pushing through the heat- on saturday I had this odd thing happen in the heat- felt like my chest had an elephant on it a few times- was like-over-breathing! Have you ever had that happen in heat??

nothing like that, but me and hte heat are badddd enemies. any run over 12 miles in the heat and I break out into a fever about 3-4 hours later..probably due to hydration. I'm just finding ways around it (like stopping at my house every few iles to really hydrate and splashing cold water on me!). sounds like your marathon training is going great...october is going to sneak up on us now! ah!

WOW- we actually hide a cooler en route with ice and face cloths- and- extra water. About mile 6 ish- it helps- imagine what we can do with an October- COOL- marathon! ;-) It's nice to know sometimes that I'm not the only one that crashes and burns in the heat. It's kind of scary to lose 3 pounds on a run! I was toast all day Saturday and chilled- signs of dehydration. And, that was just an 11 mile run! And, we drank a ton!
