Wow! Awesome 10k! Every kind of trail... single, double, springyground, tight turns, almost flew off course once. Had nothing at the end, found someone to run the tail end with and we just pushed up the pace to stay move. Legs had no kick left. Figured I would be slower, hiked some uphills, bombed the technical downhill (fav)... ran through trees, loose rocks, smooth trails, by lakes and ponds (they were swimming a tri in one of them) strategic approach to just enough hiking + 2 gels kept me going. Lot of work before October! starting temp was like 55F! Over 8,000 ft starting elevation. HR 171/180. Evo Burritos and beer was good afterwards! Youngest racer-9 years old! Amy had a strong race, came in feeling good and enjoying her first trail race!

Awesome, Jake! Congratulations to you and Amy!

@Matt 171 is 90% of my max... so for a 10k, that is right in the 'normal' range. At least at elevation. In town, i would have expected perhaps 180 avg....
