Thanks Kate! I feel alot of pressure to make this a great race! Any tips people have to boost attendance would be appreciated. It's a fun thing to do but also close to my heart (as all you guys get, I'm sure). So thanks for the input :)

good Track run with DS running group 2 mi
3/4, 1/4, 3/4, 1/4. Took it relatively slow because I have something going on with my hamstring. Not terrible, just don't want to blow it out. I'm actually not sure what my time was but I... read more

Nice run and pace Jen, take it easy on the hamstring, they take a long time to heal.

good 5 miler Hunting, Green, Maple... 5.16 mi 00:54 10:30 pace
Cold out there today! My toes were cold in ski socks. Warmed up eventually but holy moley!

You're more dedicated than me, I'm afraid! Cold feet get crampy for me, which means no running, lol. Good for you!!

Reading for inspiration right now. I leave for my 5 miler in a few mins but it's darn cold out there!! About 6 degrees I think. With wind!

Seriously. My parents are trying to hold me back until about 15 degrees, but it's 10 now, and I'd rather run through noon for my long run since the sun will be warm.

I warmed up once I got past mile 1. I recommend a face mask that you can pull down later. And my toes were cold in ski socks at first. I wore three layers: nike thermal shirt, thermal hoodie and thermal zip up. Plus short shorts under my winter running pants. Hat, gloves.

Running in a ski town means hills. Lots of hills. One of the harder runs in a while and only three miles.

Hope you've got snow where you are!

Good job Jen! Hills are tough for me still - wish it was cool here in order to get outside and tackle them though. Its ridiculously warm here and I have no desire to conquer, haha.

great Neighborhood run with the boy... 1.5 mi
Short neighborhood run with the 10. Sweet boy that he is, he only complained that his ears were cold. He did great. What are your tips for keeping a kid interested in running? Bribes?
-
Some kids love it, some kids don't! I wouldn't force him to do it if he loses interest. Running is not for everyone. Just keep it happy and cheery and he may relate it to feeling good and want to continue.
