It took about half an hour lying in my warm bed to talk myself into this little recovery run. Went barefoot to prevent myself from trying to be some kind of hero and overdoing it as my legs are still somewhat sore behind the knees. It was a lovely morning, partly cloudy, 11C, steady wind, everything wet from the rain. Except for a few ouchies from sharp twigs on the road (hidden in the fallen leaves) it was not at all bad. However I was awfully self conscious of looking like a nut to all the dog walkers... sigh.

Good recovery run. Do not be tempted to prove your made of iron like I did and be limping around like me.

Thanks, Spence! I try to persuade myself to be sensible! Probably because I'm inherently a lazy person... Sarah, it wasn't really bravery just pigheaded determination or something like that :) .

Getting out there comfortably is a good way to start recovery. Good victory for will power!

Thanks, Paul! I need to learn from you, you've done some wondrous things.

Nice work to keep it in check. Take it easy though - Tuesday is usually the worst day after a marthon (so said my RR coach who's run over 20).

Don't learn from me Pierre. I'm a bad influence. I'm young and stupid ;)

Thanks, Nicole! I'm feeling pretty good today except for the sore muscles behind the knees! No idea why those in particular are sore. Paul, you've accomplished a lot and I admire it.

Thanks, A.! I was actually trying to decide if I could recover for this Sunday's Niagara Half but realized today that I don't have the time even if I were so silly as to try it so soon after the marathon. So I'll have to do that one next year.

Brrrr, cold toes :-)

Actually they weren't that cold (and it was actually 7C). More painful was that the soles of my feet were still pretty raw from running the SBTM and I had two bleeding wounds on the toes.
