Feels like I'm getting away with something I'm not supposed to, having too much fun before work begins! Today was my 2nd commute of the week. Started out a bit later, took it slow in the beginning and once I got on the causeway (a loooong stretch of bike trail with a freeway on one side and fields on the other) I was able to get up to speed and maintain it without too much effort. Near the end of the trip I got a bit tired, not sure if it's all the start and stop from lights or the fact that I'm racking up mileage that I never have before on my bike. Today I saw two groups of runners, said hello to one and startled them - then they smiled and waved back. The next group I asked "morning guys! How many miles?" One uttered a "guh, what?" and someone else in the group said "We are doing 8 thanks!" I told them to have a good run and kept on.
Really windy this morning so I'm stoked I toughed it out. Have a great morning everyone!

Sounds like I should ride to work!

This is great! And I bet those runners are still talking about the bicyclist who wasn't cussing at them for once! I've been talking for eons about trying to commute to work by bike, and I've even driven a couple routes in an attempt to find non-death-inducing roads. Now you're inspiring me to keep that idea in mind.

Teresa - it's not like running, it's not the same, fun but a more mellow fun. I couldn't run to work that's for sure! I'd be a sopping mess.
Layla - thank you! I say you do it. You know google has that 'bike route' feature right? It's rough but it does an ok job.

Yeah, the catch is that Google doesn't know about construction. Riding on a busy, fast four-lane road that has no shoulders right now = sure death.
