We've had unusually warm weather here, with more than 50 degrees for quite a while and even up to 68 on some days!! :) September is often one of the snow months here, so this is not something we're used to :D

Not less and less frequent, but the activity goes in waves with about ten years between each peak. At it's best we have very high activity, but it has to be dark out and no clouds for the northern lights to be visible :) Also, it helps to get away from the city and the "light pollution". The darker, the better :) (Oops, that was a long comment. I work as a tourist guide here, so I tend to go on and on ;) )

Hey, more is the new more, not less! More information the better. I have definitely heard about the light pollution. I experience it first hand here in the US when I went to the Grand Canyon, and could see the Milky way from the (less touristy) North Rim of the canyon, but not from the (more touristy and light polluted) South Rim. It was a beautiful sight. Seeing the Northern Lights is on my "bucket list"!

If I do end up making it to Tromsø at some point, I'll look you up to be my tourist guide!
