    Easy for Laguna Hills Memorial Day Half Marathon, son Vikiet (15)'s debut and also second half marathon. "You run slow, Dad!" he would say. His best pace was around 5 minutes.

    Out and back over lots of hills and tough terrain on the mountain's trails. Out: 4 hours, barefoot; back: 5.5 hours, Huyraches (walk mostly from mile 20).

      Wow! You're first ultra and you are going to do it barefoot! I hope the trails are forgiving on the feet. No sharp rocks or thorns. Good luck to you!

      I hiked this trail about three years ago (wait a minute, three already???). The short distance I went through was mainly unpaved dirt road with little rocks, but not too technical. I will bring the thin Huyraches just in case.
